Excellent IB Results for TISA

We are very proud to announce the best results ever for our International Baccalaureate Diploma students. TISA students achieved an impressive average IB score of 34 (from a maximum 45).  In terms of UK qualifications, this average is the equivalent of well over three A* grades at A level.

The International Baccalaureate is a combination of six subjects, three studied at Higher Level and three studied at Standard Level. Each subject is given a grade out of seven. In addition there is a core consisting of an Extended Essay, a Theory of Knowledge course and a Creativity, Action and Service Programme where up to a further three points can be gained. This gives a possible maximum total of 45.

The top end achievement of our students this year was exceptional. One student achieved a phenomenal 43 points (A level equivalent A*A*A*A*A) and another scored 42 points (which equates to A*A*A*AA). This puts them in the top 5% of students worldwide.   An impressive 59% achieved 35 points or more.

In addition, five of our students achieved the prestigious bilingual diploma (English-Russian or English-Norwegian).

The IB Diploma is an academically rigorous and demanding course. Universities around the world recognise the IB Diploma as the leading pre-university course and our 2011 graduates have gained entry to some of the most prestigious universities in the UK, USA and elsewhere.

We are absolutely delighted with our students’ results this year, which are a testament both to the hard work of the students themselves and to the outstanding support given by their teachers.
