Visual Art
The students undertaking the MYP Visual Art course will be involved in creating a range of art works using a number of different media. The media includes: graphite pencils; coloured pencils; aquarelles; oil and chalk pastels; wax crayons; oil and watercolour paint; acrylic and tempera paint; printmaking; mixed media; computer graphics and ceramics. The type of art produced will originate from plans from collaborative work with other teachers and subject areas or from plans written by the art teacher. Either way students will have the opportunity to make their own creative input into the type of work produced. Presently this work includes for example: portraits showing emotion and expression; views of the local suburbs and Baku city; still life; dreams and fantasies; reflections in life; strange poses and symbols in art. The students will have an opportunity to study and work in different styles like: Realism; abstraction ; Expressionism; Impressionism and Symbolism.

In the process of making these artworks the students have an opportunity to learn about the culture and society of Azerbaijan as well as those from other countries of the world. They will study and write about the art of the past from a range of different cultures. By displaying the works produced students can celebrate their achievements.
