One objective of the IB curriculum is to foster international understanding, which leads to an appreciation of the ways of life of other people. A characteristic of Group 3 subjects is that their content is disputable and thus their study requires some toleration of uncertainty.
History HL and SL
IB History is a critical study of human experience which recognizes, appreciates, and respects human diversity. It is by no means Eurocentric and strives to help students develop their ability to analyse and evaluate information as well as understand the world around them. The study of history at national, regional and international levels aims also to help students develop an awareness of their own history.

Economics HL and SL
Economic decisions are the most common we have to make, whether that is how to spend our income or relationships between nations. Among the challenges common to all societies is the search for acceptable levels of economic well-being. IB Economics aims to provide an explanation of the processes at work in these decisions at all levels. Economics in the IB puts great emphasis on the issue of development in the belief that the study of economics and economic development are part of the solution to many global problems. Note: Old syllabus ends with class of 2012.

Psychology HL and SL
Psychology is the systematic study of behaviour and experience and is a meeting ground for both the natural and the social sciences. Knowledge of Psychology as an academic discipline is now considered an integral part of many professions. Psychology allows students to develop an understanding of themselves and others and offers the opportunity to focus on individuals and societies in the context of a social science. The aims of the IB Diploma Psychology course are to develop an awareness of how psychological research can be applied for the benefit of human beings while ensuring that ethical practices are upheld in psychological inquiry. Students will develop an understanding of the biological, cognitive and sociocultural influences on human behavior, develop an understanding of alternative explanations of behaviour and understand and use diverse methods of psychological inquiry.
