Health and Safety
A doctor is on site at TISA during school hours and can distribute medication and address health emergencies. Please keep your child’s health information up to date in OpenApply.
TISA adopted the Standard Response Protocol to ensure that all staff and students understand how to safely respond in an emergency situation. Drills are conducted several times a year. Please see this handout for more information.
TISA prioritizes student safety and wellbeing. Our policy on bullying is found in the Parent Student Handbook.
TISA defines bullying as repeated behavior intended to hurt another student emotionally or physically, often characterized by an imbalance of power. This can be in person or online.
When pupils, staff or parents, report concerns about bullying, our response involves:
- Investigating the claims
- Based on the findings, take appropriate disciplinary action if bullying or other behavioral infractions were identified
- Work with the parties involved to prevent recurrence
- Reflect on the bullying episode and extract any learning from it and use it to inform future teaching, actions and responses

There are many ways to get involved at TISA. We have an active Parent Teacher Association with opportunities to volunteer at the school and in the community. Additionally, we invite parents to school events throughout the year.
Communication
TISA utilizes a variety of methods to communicate with parents. An important communication tool is the Friday LookAhead which is emailed to all parents and has key information about the upcoming week and other school announcements. Principals also share quarterly newsletters and classroom teachers communicate regularly via email, Toddle or Managebac.
In Primary, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher. In Secondary, please reach out to the teacher or your child’s TAO Coach. For additional information see the Contact Us page.
