TISA has elected to use the Modern Language Association (MLA) style due to its flexibility and focus on creating reader-friendly works. This page collects resources that support TISA learners in our effort to acknowledge the work of others when we create our own authentic work.
Introduction to Citations at TISA
NoodleTools – NoodleTools is a research organizational tool to support note-taking and citations. See a member of the library staff for access to your individual account.
NoodleTools Tutorials – These video tutorials guide users through the basics of building a works cited list and creating in-text citations in NoodleTools. They cover common sources such as websites, digital images, online videos, and print books.
The MLA Style Center – TISA uses the MLA style for all citations. The Style Center has information about the core elements and examples.
Purdue OWL – Purdue University’s Online Writing Lab (OWL) is an excellent resource for MLA style formatting.
